Tales Along Lake Tahoe Shores, A Sentimental Journey by David & Gayle Woodruff
Lake Tahoe has been revered for its natural beauty for thousands of years. The landscape is charming, captivating, and unforgettable. The vastness of the shimmering blue expanse, encircled by majestic mountains adorned in great green evergreen robes, binds the body and mind and makes our heartbeat faster. It is difficult to lay eyes upon something so enchantingly grand without feeling deeply inspired... and creating visions that have led many to achieve their personal best.
Tales Along Lake Tahoe Shores reflects back on the varied, diverse, and sometimes complicated human history of this Lake in the Sky. We have put together a collection of 34 lesser known, true tales of Lake Tahoe history, that we have found interesting, entertaining, and often amusing. From John Steinbeck to the Hermit of Emerald Bay, there have been many who have delighted in their time at Lake Tahoe and created memories and experiences that affected and influenced them for the remainder of their lives.
David & Gayle Woodruff have lived in the Lake Tahoe/Eastern Sierra for most of their lives. They are the authors of eight books on Eastern Sierra and Eastern California history, including the popular Tales Along El Camino Sierra series, and are also presenters of living histories, lectures and slide show programs.
