The 74th Legislative Session was held in 2007. The Medallion for that year featured the Nevada State Artifact, the Tule Duck. Native Americans from the Archaic perios, about 2,000 years ago, used tule reeds to create duck decoys resemling canvas back ducks. In 1924, archeologists found nearly a dozen ancient duck decoys in Lovelock Cave. The Tule Duck was designated as the official state artifact by Chapter 97 of the 1995 Statutes of Nevada.
