Medallion - 2007 Bronze Nevada Legislative Medallion

Description: Struck from the same dies used to mint the 2007 silver medallion. Not numbered. Side one of the medallion features Nevada's state artifact, the Tule Duck Decoy. Side two depicts the Nevada State Seal. Native Americans from the Archaic period, about 2,000 years ago, used tule reeds (related to bulrush) to create duck decoys resembling canvasback ducks. In 1924, archeologist found nearly a dozen acient duck decoys in Lovelock Cave. The Tule Duck Decoy was designated as the official state artifact by Chapter 97 of the 1995 Satutes of Nevada (NRS 235.085)
